Why You Need This

MPs enable the holder to operate radiotelephone stations aboard certain vessels that sail the Great Lakes, certain aviation radiotelephone stations, and certain coast radiotelephone stations.

So far, I have only

"So far, I have only seen a few grammatical and typographic errors. The course is generally well layed out. Some more information on emmissions and their nomenclature would help. This course seems great for the information to pass the test but I was hoping for more technical information so I could get a better understanding of the theory behind the questions."

Q&A

Does this cover tow boats on the Mississippi River?
MPs are required to operate radiotelephone stations aboard certain vessels that sail the Great Lakes. They are also required to operate radiotelephone stations aboard vessels of more than 300 gross tons and vessels which carry more than six passengers for hire in the open sea or any tidewater area of the United States. They are also required to operate certain aviation radiotelephone stations and certain coast radiotelephone stations.
I'm chartering a bareboat 42' sailing catamaran and the requirements indicate a VHF certificate.   Do you offer a coarse which would meet this requirement?
We do not offer a course or exam for the VHF radio permit. We recommend you call the FCC to see which permit is required for what you are looking to do; (888) 225-5322.
What is the Estimated study time and Pass rate for MROP?
The only course for the MROP is about 4 hours long. Most, if not all students eventually, pass their MROP exam.
If I don't need the course I purchased, can I transfer it to someone else with a Mariner's Learning System Account?
You might be able to! Please give our office a call. You can call the office at (609) 303-0664. The office is open Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM EST.
How long does it typically take to prepare for the exam?  How long does it take to have your permit issued?
The only course for the MROP is about 4 hours long. The whole process for obtaining an FCC permit takes a handful of weeks.
