Course Extension
The online course extension provides current MLS students the opportunity to complete their course, if they were unable to do so within the 1 year timeframe.
All quizzes/final exams are reset. Any quizzes and tests taken prior to your course expiration date do not count. You will need to complete all quizzes and tests online and take all your proctored exams prior to the new course expiration date.
All course quizzes/module exams and official final exams are reset.
After one business day, an email will be sent to the student with the new course expiration date and login information for the course. DO NOT ATTEMPT to access your course until you receive this email.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When the course is extended, all quizzes and tests that you have taken will be reset and you must take them over again. Any quizzes and tests taken prior to your course expiration date do not count. You will need to complete all quizzes and tests online and take all your proctored exams prior to the new course expiration date.
You have the following options for when to purchase an online course extension:
- Extend prior to the course expiration date. If you extend prior to the course expiration date, the new expiration date will be set one year from the date that you pay for the extension. (Ex: If your expiration date was April 1, 2022 and you registered for a course extension on March 1, 2022, your new course expiration date will be March 1, 2023.)
- Extend on the course expiration date. If you extend on the course expiration date, the new course expiration date will be one calendar year from your original course expiration date. (Ex: If your expiration date was April 1, 2022 and you registered for a course extension on April 1, 2022, your new course expiration date will be April 1, 2023.)
- Extend after the course expiration date. If you extend after your course expiration date, the new course expiration date will be set for one year from the date you extend the course. (Ex: If your expiration date was April 1, 2022 and you registered for a course extension on May 1, 2022, your new course expiration date will be May 1, 2023.)
You can extend the maritime course again if you have extended it in the past.
The fee covers several different costs involved in extending your course, including:
- Administrative costs
- Resetting your program
- Maintenance and support throughout the extended course period
Once you extend your course, you will receive an email confirming your order has been processed and within 1 business day you will receive another email with your course extension information including your new course expiration date, user name, classroom key and login information. Do not try to log into the online course extension until you receive the follow-up email notifying you that your course has been reset.
